Cookie & Tracking Notice

Last updated: July 1, 2026

This notice explains the cookies, analytics, and browser storage that Yo DJ Request uses. The short version: we use only what the Service needs to function, plus cookieless analytics. We use no advertising or marketing trackers.

Cookies

The only cookies we set are strictly necessary authentication cookies, and they are only set when a DJ or admin logs in. Audience members browsing an event feed receive no cookies from us.

CookiePurposeDuration
sb-*-auth-token (Supabase)Keeps a logged-in DJ/admin signed in and secures their sessionUntil logout or session expiry

Analytics

We use Vercel Analytics to understand aggregate site usage (page views, general regions, device types). It is cookieless: it sets no cookies, stores no persistent identifiers on your device, and does not track you across websites.

Browser storage (localStorage)

The event request feed stores small pieces of functional state in your browser’s localStorage. This data stays on your device, is scoped to the specific event you attended, and is never used for tracking or advertising:

KeyPurposeDuration
submission-<event>Remembers when you last submitted a request, to limit repeat submissionsExpires automatically after the cooldown window
upvoted-<event>Remembers which requests you upvoted so you can’t upvote twice from this deviceUntil you clear browser data
audience-<event>Remembers the name and email you entered at an event so you aren’t asked again on this deviceUntil you clear browser data

Managing cookies and storage

You can clear cookies and localStorage at any time through your browser’s settings (usually under “Clear browsing data” or “Site settings”). Because everything we set is functional, clearing it simply means you may need to log in again (DJs) or re-enter your details at an event (audience members).

Consent

Because our cookies are strictly necessary and our analytics are cookieless, we currently provide this notice rather than a consent banner. If we ever add tracking that requires consent, we will ask for it first and update this notice.

How we handle personal information more broadly is covered in our Privacy Policy. Questions: ericallenlake@gmail.com.
