Accessibility
Last updated: July 1, 2026
We want everyone at the party — including people using screen readers, keyboard navigation, or other assistive technology — to be able to request songs and run events with Yo DJ Request.
Our target
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. Measures we’ve taken include:
- A skip-to-content link and consistent page landmarks.
- Labels on all form fields and descriptive text on controls.
- Visible keyboard focus on interactive elements.
- Color choices checked against WCAG contrast requirements.
- Screen-reader announcements for the live request feed so new requests aren’t silent.
Known limitations
This is an evolving product and some areas may not yet meet our target, particularly newer features and DJ-customized event pages (DJs can choose their own event colors, which we cannot guarantee meet contrast requirements).
Feedback
If you hit a barrier using Yo DJ Request, please tell us at ericallenlake@gmail.com. Include the page and the assistive technology you were using, and we’ll do our best to fix it promptly.
